it's all in the bag

Nicole Mallalieu Design

Since picking up a needle and thread at the age of three, Nicole Mallalieu has been a passionate designer and maker of all things "textile". She graduated from the RMIT, with a degree in Fashion, and has worked in Australia, England and Ireland, making clothing, hats, bags and furnishings. She has specialised for most of her career in one-off, hand-finished pieces for exhibitions, commissions and boutiques, as well as functional accessories for the commercial market here and overseas.

Nicole is based in Brunswick, Melbourne and has an absolutley fab website where she sells supplies, kits and patterns online. And if you need more than written instructions to get you going on your first creation...don't be dismayed! Nicole holds regular classes at the Brunswick Business Incubator. The classes are made up of small groups and provide lots of personal attention. You just need to BYO Sewing Machine. The next date is Sat 19th August 10.30am-2pm. Click here for more details.

If you'd like to shop locally for a pattern take a look at Nicole's stockists.
Her website is a wealth of creative knowledge to get you inspired, plus Nicole offers tips and tutorials for when you get a little stuck. Meaning no craft project will be left incomplete (she's got it all in the bag! ha ha)
